As per Act 14 passed by the parliament in 1964, the SABHA has been granted the rights to run Postgraduate programs in Hindi and grant degrees. In accordance with this, the Post Graduate and Research Complex was started. The Complex is running literature and Research based courses and courses related to the functional aspect of Hindi language on a post graduate level. Regular M.A. classes are being conducted. Research work is being conducted in the form of M.Phil, PhD and D.Lit. and degrees are being granted. The Sansthan is running B.ed, Shiksha Snatak and Pracharak Training colleges with the aim of preparing accomplished Hindi language teachers. Now the B.A., M.A. (Hindi), Postgraduate Diploma in Translation, M.Phil and PhD programs have been started in the distance education mode as well.

Distance Education Directorate

The programs started by the directorate have gained immense popularity in southern India. From the second year of its commencement, the number of students has been increasing. There are thousands of people in southern India who have qualified for the Rashtrabhasha Visharad and Rashtrabhasha Praveen courses being conducted by the Sabha. The Ministry of Human Resource Development; Government of India has recognised Rashtrabhasha Visharad course as equivalent to Intermediate (Hindi) course and Rashtrabhasha Praveen course as equivalent to Graduation (Hindi) course. Students qualifying for these courses as well as for regular courses from other universities were attracted vastly to the Distance Education Programs. The Distance Education Directorate has opened a new path of gaining education for housewives. The Hindi followers from all the four southern states are now demanding for the introduction of professional courses through the Distance Education Directorate of Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha. The Sabha is planning to take steps in this direction very soon. The course material of B.A., M.A., M.Phil and P.G.D.T courses has played an important role in attracting students. The course material is readable, composed in simple language and strongly supported with examples. Experts and lesson writers from all over the country have contributed to the making of these materials. The directorate is dedicated towards the preparation of such modern and comprehensible material for the new courses in future. The Distance Education Directorate is receiving great support and encouragement from Distance Education Council, IGNOU, New Delhi.
